Felix Abraham Matschie

Having grown up in Ethiopia and Germany, born into a highly dynamic politically involved family, Felix was raised between AU summits in Addis Abeba and urgent foreign relations council meetings in Berlin. Already at an early age Felix demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to broker multi stakeholder partnerships between civil society, government and the private sector. Demonstrating long term strategic vision and a creative non conventional problem solving approach, making him our Chief Strategy Officer. -
Lemlem Ghezai Tewolde

has been Ecopia’s accountant for over 10 years, bringing valuable experience from her time in Ethiopian government institutions. With her leadership, we began digitizing our documentation early on, aligning seamlessly with the government’s digital transformation agenda. Today, all our records are digital and soon to be securely stored in the cloud. This shift has significantly improved efficiency, transparency, and accountability. At Ecopia, we believe digitalization is the most effective antidote to corruption in public institutions. By reducing manual handling and increasing traceability, it lays the foundation for a more honest, efficient, and future-ready Ethiopia.

Hayridi Nur
COO
is the pride of Ecopias Training and Operations Team. With his dedication, we launched farmer training programs focused on food, cosmetics, and herbal medicinal plants. Over the years, Hayrdi has trained and certified more than 4,000 farmers across 14 different sites. His exceptional ability to standardize formulations—developed by Dr. Mitslal Kifleyesus-Matschie and other experts—has enriched Ecopia’s knowledge base with over 50 food recipes, 70 cosmetic formulations, and 150 medicinal plant-based products. His work continues to strengthen local knowledge, create economic opportunities, and promote high-quality, African-made natural products rooted in science and tradition.

Specifically his experience at Dashen and Habesha Beer stand out, bringing vital expertise in downstream feedstock value chain management and in depth understanding of industrial-scale fermentation. -
Yodahe Mekonnen
General Manager Pharmaceuticals
is the General Manager of Pharmaceuticals at Ecopia, with over 15 years of experience in medicinal distribution and authorization. He holds a strong academic background from the prestigious Pharmacy Department of Addis Ababa University. Prior to joining Ecopia, he worked closely with the Ethiopian Drug Authority, gaining in-depth knowledge of regulatory systems. Yodahe joined Ecopia with a dedicated team of young, ambitious, and ethical professionals, committed to transforming Ethiopia’s pharmaceutical sector. His leadership bridges traditional knowledge and modern digital systems of Ecopia group, supporting Ecopia’s mission to build an ethical, transparent, and culturally grounded medical supply and distribution framework.

Bethlehem Tesfu
Vice President of Marketing and Communications.
is the Vice President of Marketing and Communications at Ecopia, overseeing the company’s Pan-African market strategy. She brings extensive experience from her work with the Pan African Chamber of Commerce and Industry, where she engaged with international organizations on trade, development, and policy advocacy. An African Trade Chamber Fellow and tralac alumna, Bethlehem also served as an organizer for the 16th, 17th, and 18th Addis International Film Festival focused on human rights. As a member of the EU-Ethiopia Youth Sounding Board, she blends strategic communication with advocacy, driving Ecopia’s mission across Africa and beyond.
