Seratera Microfinance
Seratera Microfinance is the financial arm of the Seratera business incubation initiative, supporting youth entrepreneurship across Ethiopia’s seven premier universities (Jimma, Bonga, Gambella, Metu, Bahir Dar, Awasa, and Mezan) in partnership with the German NGO Eljojofe.e.v and Ecopia Group. Currently, we are developing a digital microfinance platform—powered by equity-based financing and diaspora investment—while securing licensing from the National Bank of Ethiopia.
Equity based Finance
To enable entrepreneurs at our partner universities, to build great companies, we bridge the finance gap with equity based lending, that allivates startups from high interst rates and lenders from inflation concerns, briding the key gap in the entrepreneurial ecosystem, seed finance.
Fully Digital
Seratera's microfinance venture adopts a digital-first approach, offering solutions tailored to the needs of young entrepreneurs. Including financial literacy and bookeeping tools. For investors and ourselves the digital first approach allows realtime monitoring of startups and ensuring longterm sucess. Building a bridge between the global financial system and Universities in Ethiopia.
